In Capcom's efforts to continue keeping Resident Evil Village in tip-top shape, the company has been keeping on top of patches to fix any issues with the game. It's a standard practice for any development team, of course, but there was an interesting Resident Evil update which looked at fixing stuttering issues on the PC. Funnily enough, this patch came about not long after someone managed to find a workaround to the game's DRM. With that, it's recently been announced that a new update for the PC will be arriving soon.

Posting to the official Twitter account a few days ago, the Resident Evil team has announced the latest update for Village, which is due out tomorrow, UTC. The patch is aimed specifically at the Steam version of the game, and will work to improve the overall performance by optimizing it, as well as do a bit of fine-tuning to the FSR, or FidelityFX Super Resolution, which is a rendering technique designed to improve framerates and overall visual quality.

The tweet doesn't go into great detail about the specifics, but that will most likely be available in the patch notes once it's released. This seems to be just a normal update, and while the last one was as well, it also seemed to be a way for Capcom to quickly patch up the DRM exploitation. That update was brought about not long after a fan cracked the game, so they could fix the stuttering issues on the PC version themselves. This latest patch just seems to be a run-of-the-mill tweak to the game's general performance.

We are releasing a Resident Evil Village performance patch for Steam users on August 10th UTC, which will be addressing the following:
- Internal processing will be improved to optimize performance
- Minor fine-tuning to FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) pic.twitter.com/cqHjoP0e9t

Resident Evil Village has sold millions of copies since it was released at the beginning of May. The game has inspired the community to get involved in some cosplay outfits, such as the fan who recently showed off their impressive Lady Dimitrescu costume. It's a series that has taken the world by storm, and pretty much has been doing since the first game came out back in the mid 1990s.

Lady Dimitrescu may be one of the most popular characters in the game, effectively becoming a meme before the release when the fan base became infatuated with her, but Village is also largely known as one of the scariest games in the Resident Evil franchise. With Capcom continuing to update the game to make sure it runs smooth, and with the promise of the some DLC at some point, the eighth installment in one of the world's most popular horror series is likely to continue strong for a while.

Resident Evil Village is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
